From Young Engineer to Culture Bearer – Flemming Jensen Celebrates 40 Years at Eltwin
In a time when job changes are the norm, Flemming Jensen stands as living proof that loyalty, curiosity, and good collegiality can carry a career through four decades. Since he walked through the doors of Eltwin on August 1, 1985, he has been a driving force in the company’s development – both technically and personally.
Flemming’s journey at Eltwin began with practical tasks. But it didn’t take long before he “stuck his nose out” and took on more responsibility – first inventory management, then purchasing, quality assurance, and development.
He has worn many hats along the way: “I once had the title of Quality Manager, and I worked on calculations, cost estimates, and finance. The development department grew, and I became R&D Manager. I was also the CEO of Eltwin for about 10 years. I guess that's a hightlight of my time at Eltwin,” says Flemming, who today is Head of IT and has been a central figure in the company’s growth.
The Recipe for 40 Years at Eltwin
When asked what has kept him at Eltwin for 40 years, the answer is clear: “The main thing is having a good relationship with colleagues. You can sit down with anyone in the canteen – that means a lot.” He highlights the trust that has characterized the culture over the years: “If you wanted to do something, you could just do it. There was full trust in what you did.”
Flemming has never been driven by titles – it has always been about doing something interesting and doing it in a good spirit: “I’ve never had ambitions for anything related to titles. It’s only because I spoke up about something that I ended up doing it,” he says with a smile.
A Culture That Lasts
Although Eltwin has grown from a small company into a large organization, Flemming believes the spirit remains intact: “The cozy and friendly feeling is still there, even though we’ve become more professional. We don’t have Christmas parties in private apartments anymore. We used to meet up at my place on a Friday night before heading out – those were the days,” he says with a smile in his eye.
“I haven’t stayed at Eltwin for 40 years because I’ve had many different roles. If I had worked with IT for all 40 years, I would still be here. It has never been about job titles for me – the most important thing has been that the work was interesting and that you could do it together with good colleagues. Fortunately, I still think that’s the case,” Flemming says. “I have never written a job application,” he adds with a laugh, “and I don’t see a reason to change that.”
We thank Flemming for his 40 years of commitment, loyalty, and his always helpful and positive spirit! You are truly a clear evidens of what the Eltwin culture is all about.
